The BancorpSouth Arena and Conference Center, north Mississippi's premier entertainment and meeting complex, is looking for the right individual to become our first Social Media Manager. The successful candidate will assist our Director of Marketing with social media campaigns, content creation, delivery and evaluation of strategies while also working closely with our arena box office manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.
Draft content for external communications, blogs and social networking platforms to support the overall marketing program of work.
Coordinate and implement marketing efforts with arena’s ticketing partner for all entertainment events.
Use creative means to plan, organize and implement a range of social media programs and/or events.
Contribute to and regularly update external social sites: such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube and other community sites as directed by the Director of Marketing.
Develop content calendar for these sites.
Convey a sense of community and build our following based on valuation content and mutual sharing.
Since opening in 1993, we have hosted acts as diverse as Jason Aldean, Elton John, Chris Stapleton, Journey, Disney on Ice, Cirque du Soleil, Tim and Faith, and many more in addition to a steady stream of conferences, receptions, banquets, corporate meetings, and more. Our facility hosts over 500 events annually.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in communication or sport/venue/entertainment management preferred. High school diploma or GED required. One to three years of experience in the sport or entertainment fields preferred.
Must have a strong knowledge of leveraging social media technologies such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube, blogs and working knowledge of web analytics software.
Must be computer literate in the areas of Microsoft Office.
Experience in video shooting and editing.
Must operate standard office equipment and personal computers.
Must present an organized office that perpetuates a staff and guest friendly environment
Ability to multi-task in order to meet deadlines
Computer literate in applicable software (Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and able to learn new software as needed. Experience in both PC and MAC platforms preferred.
Writing and copy-editing experience
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports or government regulations.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
Ability to write letters and/or articles or publications that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or governmental officials.
Must speak and write the English language fluently.

With entertainment and crowd management being one of the many aspects of this industry, occasional extremely loud noise levels are present in the work environment. There are also times of low light intensity.
