The UCCS Presents Assistant Director of Business & Operations will oversee all financial operations for UCCS Presents programs (Galleries of Contemporary Art, THEATREWORKS, and the Artists Series) including budget development/management, financial processing, box office settlements, long-range financial planning/forecasting and certain day to day operations. The UCCS Presents Assistant Director of Business and Operations will work closely with the Executive Director in long-range strategic planning, goal-setting and growth projections. The financial support should follow established internal controls, be in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standards issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB), and comply with all Federal, State, Local, and University fiscal rules and regulations.
Awareness and basic understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, basic spreadsheet preparation, systems and databases, and business administration.
Awareness and basic understanding of retail accounting including inventory methods and cost of goods sold.
Proficiency in the use of various accounting and reporting applications.
Ability to work collaboratively.
Ability to seek out answers from a wide variety of choices and apply the solution correctly.
Ability to work independently.
A minimum of four years of accounting or budget management and administrative experience.
A minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
• Seven years of progressive experience with university auxiliary services
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple, concurrent projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to independently perform the wide range of administrative and accounting responsibilities associated with this position. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations in a multi-cultural environment that is committed to diversity and equality in education.

Approximately 12,000 students enrolled fall 2016 with almost 5,000 students participating in programs and instruction offered through our online and academic outreach efforts. 84% of our students are enrolled in undergraduate programs and 14% are pursuing graduate study. 53% of our students are female, 47% are male and 29% identify themselves as ethnic minority students. Approximately 92% of our students originate from Colorado, 12% come from out-of-state and 315 are international. Students from all 50 states and 49 countries are represented here at UCCS. 28% of our students are first generation students and nearly two-thirds of our undergraduates receive financial aid through loans and grants.
Nationally recognized as a Military Friendly and Best for Vets University, we enroll more than 2,000 active and retired military personnel. Being based in Colorado Springs, also known as Olympic City USA, we enrolled 18 U.S. Olympic athletes in 2015.
We are home to 16 NCCA Division II athletic teams and have earned 17 NCAA Division II Athletic Conference Championships. We offer 17 Intramural sports and 170 student clubs and organizations.
We employ approximately 1,100 faculty and staff. Our budget for fiscal year 2016-17 is approximately $228 million. Campus expenditures have yielded approximately $310 million to the local economy each year through construction, employee and student spending, travel and operating expenses.
To ensure a balanced social and academic campus life, we offer 15 full-service residence halls, an active university center, a LEED-certified recreation and wellness center, a state-of-the-art library and a new veterans and military student center. Thanks to collaborations with key community organizations forged by Chancellor Shockley-Zalabak, we are building the $70 million Ent Center for the Arts and are key players in the creation of the new National Cybersecurity Center.
We have graduated more than 43,000 students since 1965. 96% of them say they are either somewhat or very satisfied with the education they received at UCCS. Of our 43,000 graduates, over 28,000 live in Colorado and approximately 14,000 worldwide.
