The Senior Manager of Auxiliary Services and Event Management manages the success of events and programs requiring facilities of the Prince Georges Community College by independently coordinating and directing the delivery of services to the allotted venues on campus. This individual will be accountable for the overall success of the Auxiliary Services & Event Management Department by monitoring and controlling financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection. Leads the team in providing proper event/program room set ups based on requirements and standards, personally assisting when needed. Directs and motivates team to provide high level of service. Develops and trains team to complete work thoroughly, promptly and safely. Must have professional work experience in planning, organizing and controlling events to allow them to assume substantial responsibilities with minimal orientation. The Senior Manager of Auxiliary Services and Event Management may also be assigned to stand alone meetings, banquets and consumer shows. Supports and acts on behalf of the Director of Auxiliary Services & Event Management in his/her absence.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in arts, communications, events planning or related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in events planning.
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
Certification in event planning preferred.
Event management software experience necessary.

Demonstrated project management, time management, and organizational skills.
Substantial and progressively responsible experience in, and knowledge of planning, production and management of large, small, high profile, and less-formal events for diverse and distinguished guests.
Ability to resolve complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to analyze issues and provide resolutions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of a team in a multi-cultural environment. Knowledge and skills in using special event planning software applications.
Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
