Basic Function: Reporting to Director of Events, this position is responsible for assisting the Event Director in all functions of special events held at Klyde Warren Park to ensure that the events are planned executed to the highest of standards fit within overall park priorities.
1.Works with Event Director and clients in planning and execution of self-produced and 3rd party rental events in the Park.
2.Works with vendors and staff on event logistics to ensure smooth execution and minimalize impact of regular park operations, ensure safety for patrons and to maintain the highest level of service in the Park.
3.Builds event information packets.
4.Manager of events as directed by the Director of Events.
5.Provides feedback to Director of Events on quality control- vendor efficiency and performance, food & beverage, park maintenance and attendance of events.
6.Assists the Events and Programs team in all aspects of the Park’s signature events & fundraising event.
7.Other duties as assigned by Director of Events.
Job Specifics: 1-3 years’ experience in large market, high end venue event operations. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Sport Management, Liberal Arts or related field. Ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, efficient and work independently as well as in groups. Evening, weekend and holiday work required. Must be customer service orientated.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, during events; the noise level may be loud.
Physical Requirements: 1. Ability to regularly stand and walk for long periods of time; 2. Ability to walk and move quickly from one location to another as business needs dictate; 3. Ability to hear and listen to guests and clients talk in person and over the phone; 4. Ability to climb stairs to get to different points in the park, give client tours, work with guests, and to inspect the park in preparation for the event; 5. Ability to see and read documents in hard form and on the computer screen; 6. Ability to use hands and fingers to type and use mouse on computer; 7. Ability to talk to employees, guests, and clients in person, on hard phone lines, cell phones, and on two-way radios; 8. Ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds; 9. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision in regards to setting up events and inspecting the building in preparation for events; 10. Ability to respond on an immediate basis during normal business hours, after hours and on weekends via mobile phone is required/company phone allowance is provided on bi-weekly basis as compensation for this job requirement, employee must purchase mobile phone and service plan of their own choosing with responsibility for the repair and/or replacement of the phone; 11. Employees with this phone access requirement are not restricted in their movement location, and activities during off hours when they are not at work.

The 5.2-acre deck park, designed by The Office of James Burnett, is an urban green space built over the recessed Woodall Rodgers Freeway between Pearl and St. Paul streets in downtown Dallas. Klyde Warren Park is a highly active space, providing daily free programming for the public ranging from yoga to lecture series to outdoor concerts and films. The park is privately operated and managed by the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation.
