Job Title: Director-Managerial (Standard) – Associate Athletic Director - Development
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Directs, coordinates, and implements all fundraising initiatives and caries a major gift portfolio for The University of Texas at El Paso's (UTEP) Department of Athletics.
Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Conceptualize, plan, and implement a development and fundraising program that will result in the generation of private support including individual and corporate major gifts and annual fund contributions for the initiatives of the Department of Athletics
Develop detailed gift opportunities plan tailored towards the interest of potential major donors, consistent with established needs and priorities of the intercollegiate Athletics Department.
Carry a major gift portfolio of 100 donors while making an assigned number of personal visits and work toward defined goals of asks and dollars raised
Oversee the implementation of prospect cultivation and solicitation for programs and priorities of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department. Oversee organization and planning of Miner Athletic Club donor fundraising and stewardship events
Manage a staff of four development professionals charged with raising private funds to support the Department of Athletics
Attendance at athletic contests and donor events, including work on nights and weekends
Work across campus with the Office of Alumni Relations and be the primary liaison with the Office of Asset Management and Development
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems to include The Raiser's Edge and Archtics Ticketing software
Complies with all State and University policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies and applicable laws. Applicant will oversee four full time professionals.

Minimum Education required: Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Experience required: Expert working knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques for a Division I Athletic Department. Thorough knowledge of the NCAA rules, guidelines, and principles as they influence university fundraising. Five years minimum experience working in collegiate athletics or fundraising in higher education. Ability to use a relational donor database system.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in an applicable area
