The George Washington University Department of Athletics and Recreation is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Ticket Sales and Operations Assistant for the 2018-19 academic year. The qualified candidate should have a desire to enter the sports industry, prior sales and customer service experience, and be willing to work nights and weekend hours. This position will run from July 2018 – May 2019. The Ticket Sales and Operations Assistant will assist in generating revenue through outbound sales campaigns that focus on the sale of all ticketed GW Athletics events. This position will also assist with day-to-day operations for GW Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, and Baseball.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Make a required minimum of outbound sales calls and face to face appointments with the goal of maximizing ticket revenue and continuously soliciting new business for George Washington Athletics ticket sales
Identify, research, and explore new sales opportunities for season ticket and group sales target markets to meet the established sales objectives
Provide recommendations to Ticket Office on sales strategies, promotions, and community ticket/ sampling programs
Track and report daily, weekly and monthly sales figures and relevant accountability reports
Fulfillment of season and single game ticket orders
Assist with ticket reconciliation, cash management, data entry, event operations, and player guest management
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, including nights and weekends; A degree in business, communications, sports marketing or related field; Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; Experience with the Audience View ticketing platform is a plus; Organized team player with the ability to handle multiple assignments, work independently and demonstrate flexibility and creative problem solving skills in a fast paced environment; Excellent verbal communication skills with a friendly and professional telephone manner.
COMPENSATION: This is an hourly position paid at a rate of $13.25 per hour.
