FlU is currently seeking a Director of Finance and Accounting that will direct all financial activities of Athletics Operations and the Athletics Finance Corporation. Ensures the successful operation of the Business Office. Manages all financial relationships with the FIU Foundation Office, the FIU Athletics Finance Corporation, and the FIU Office of Business and Finance. Job duties includes:
•Oversees all financial activities of Athletics Operations and the Athletic Finance Corporation. Ensures the successful operation of the Business Office (I.e., scholarships, foundation, account posting and reconciliation). Applies State, University, NCAA, Departmental and other approved policies and procedures to areas of responsibility. Supervises Business Office staff. •Works hand in hand with the Athletic Director on major financial issues and strategies presented to Executive Management. •Manages all financial relationships with the FIU Foundation Office, the FIU Athletics Finance Corporation, and the FIU Office of Business and Finance. •Serves as an active member of the core Athletic Director's management team and is responsible for the development and implementation of short and long-term strategic planning with that group. •Maintains outside contact and provides periodic financial information to the NCAA, Board of Education, Athletics Council, and the University Office of Financial Planning. •Oversees State of Florida University System fund sources will include funds: 411 Athletics, 210 Education and General, 491 Agency, 461 Concession, 331 Auxiliary. •Oversees all budgeting and financial reporting to include monthly and quarterly variance reporting, monitoring and projections of budget and finalizing year-end. Organizes and prepares EADA and Title IX Reports. Works closely with auditors as they audit our Title IX Report and Financial Statements. Maintains salary projections and analysis for constant variation in departmental salary. •Prepares the annual operating and capital budget for Athletics. Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Implements internal controls and maintains accountability of the Business Office. •Compiles data from statistical studies and analyzes past and current organizational financial performance to assist with executive decision making. •Works closely with coaches and administrative member's individual budgets regarding their expenditures and projections to regulate and maintain their budget projections. •Approves Payroll certification and tracking of changes in human resource allocations in the department. Prepares budget transfers; clear budget expectations; process fundraising and foundation request transfers. Approves all purchase orders. •Designs, develops, and conducts special studies in the assigned areas of fiscal operations. Interprets fiscal rules and policies and recommends new and improved programs. •Reconciles monthly ticket office revenues with Ticket Office staff. Responsible for cash receipts, disbursements, account payable, procurement, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting. •Maintains confidentiality for the department. Treats with utmost confidentiality and sensitivity any matter pertaining to medical, academic and personal data of student athletes and any information either directly or indirectly impacting the University and/or Athletic Department. •Reviews, understands and abides by all department procedures.
