Primary Position Function: Responsible for event management and guest relations; managing the building and event security operation; developing and coordinating safety and risk management initiatives; monitoring security and emergency procedures in the industry; and manage and integrate the Illinois Premium Seating event management operation at State Farm Center.
Responsibilities 1. Collaborate with State Farm Center Associate Director in managing and coordinating the State Farm Center event management departments to best accommodate and enhance the guest experience:
a. Participate in identifying, hiring, training, and managing all event management staff in alignment and coordination with Illinois Premium Seating. b. Assign duties and evaluate performance for event management staff. c. Serve as main point of contact and resource for troubleshooting and resolving guest/client/event issues and concerns.
2. Participate in management and coordination of events within State Farm Center (concert tours, basketball game management, production managers, etc.) to ensure facility and staff preparedness for both State Farm Center and Illinois Premium Seating. 3. With Associate Director, analyze, review, and assess State Farm Center and Illinois Premium Seating guest services, crowd management, ADA and safety policies and procedures to enhance a safe and enjoyable experience for all State Farm Center guests, clients, and events. Coordinate all record keeping activities in this area. 4. Serve as manager on duty and primary event coordinator for select State Farm Center events. 5. With Associate Director, manage the coordination of game day activities related to Illinois Premium Seating at State Farm Center. a. Hire, train, and manage Premium Seating area game day staff in alignment and coordination with other State Farm Center event staff departments. b. Develop policies and procedures for Illinois Premium Seating in conjunction with State Farm Center policies and protocols. c. Serve as main point of contact and resource for troubleshooting and resolving guest/client/event issues and concerns specific to Illinois Premium Seating at State Farm Center. d. Management of Premium Seating opportunities within the context of State Farm Center special events, including special event member ticketing/pre-sales, premium seating space utilization for special events surrounding State Farm Center marquee events, and other opportunities. 6. With Associate Director, serve as a liaison between Illinois Premium Seating and State Farm Center to integrate, engender, and sustain a mutually beneficial working relationship. 7. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position is required.

Qualifications Education: Required - Bachelor’s degree in athletic administration, public administration, marketing or related field Preferred - Master’s degree in same fields
Experience: Required - One to three years’ experience in athletic or entertainment venue operation and management, including event management and staff employment and supervision. Preferred - Experience specific to arena entertainment management or athletic management in Illinois Athletics strongly preferred.
Knowledge: Preferred - Knowledge of premium seating venues, their clientele, and oversight. - Knowledge of premium seating and event planning - Knowledge of premium seating and event planning specific to Illinois Athletics strongly preferred. - Knowledge in arena entertainment management and athletic management preferred
