Manage Ryman Auditorium and Opry House concert schedule and line-up. Ensure that all events are executed successfully and that annual budgets are met.
Maintain excellent working relationships with outside concert promoters, booking agents and all artist representatives to maximize Ryman and Opry House concert bookings.
Work with SVP to manage venue calendars in conjunction with venue event managers, ensuring maximum usage and profitability.
Understand venue/show budgets and create pro formas which will guide programming decisions. Negotiate performance and rental agreements. Oversee associated contracts and financial settlements. Manage paperwork and all files for confirmed concerts.
Nurture robust knowledge and solid understanding of all genres of music and theatre level entertainment. Gather research & compile insights to be used to guide programming decisions, including performance history, which can be shared with internal teams. Maintain knowledge of current industry and local market trends.
Work with accounting department to ensure accurate budgets, forecasts and settlements as well as accurate payments to clients and artists.
Communicate and collaborate with marketing, PR & ticketing teams (internal and external), ensuring accurate ticketing set up and successful on sales as well as the creation and execution of marketing plans that result in the achievement of sales goals.
Communicate and collaborate with production, operations and events teams (internal and external) from show confirmation to completion. Ensure that concerts are advanced properly, that contractual and event requirements are fulfilled within approved budgets and that all show elements are executed successfully.
Serve as key on-site representative during concerts to ensure that artists, artist teams and promoters needs are met; serve as Manager on Duty during events as assigned.
Work with SVP to create and implement programming strategies including new propriety concert events and series concepts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Entertainment, Business, Communications or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of seven years of progressive experience as a booking manager at a venue, concert promoter, booking agent, talent buyer, or in a related music industry position
Must have a proven track record of great attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be a team player with a consistently professional demeanor and the ability to work with all types of people
Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills with the ability to proactively recommend solutions
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with differing deadlines
Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office
