The West Virginia University Foundation, Inc., a non-profit specifically designated to aid, further, and support the work and purposes of West Virginia University, is seeking a talented professional to join our fundraising team as Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Special Events for the Mountaineer Athletic Club, the fundraising arm for WVU Athletics. The Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Special Events will be responsible for assigned activities within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at West Virginia University with a focus on assisting the coordination of all special events, all donor stewardship activities, and data entry for all non-annual fund gifts for the Mountaineer Athletic Club, as well as managing communication with donors, overseeing staff, and executing game day and event day operations. This role will be expected to assist with all benefit-related special events, hospitality, and recognition programs, and other special events as assigned, including, but not limited to, programs held concurrently with athletic contests at WVU or opponent venues, the Coaches Caravan, Baseball Leadoff Dinner, Charleston Scholarship Dinner, WVU Classic Golf Tournaments, 1100 Club events, etc.
This Assistant Director of Donor Relations will oversee the following: processing and acknowledgments of all sports specific gifts received by the Mountaineer Athletic Club, data input for all sport specific gifts in Spectra (formerly Paciolan) ticketing/donor software system, and communication plan for all events and sport specific solicitations. This position will also assist with all sport specific and non-annual fund giving programs, stewardship efforts for planned gifts and endowments, and maintain a calendar for all special events and fundraising activities. Generating, processing, and tracking gifts are also included in the role. The ability to run reports and analyze data is very important in this position to make decisions for cultivation and recognition purposes.

A bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for a Master's degree. Minimum of two to four years of progressive development experience. Experience with intercollegiate athletics, particularly Division I experience preferred. Direct experience working with donors preferred. Must have strong attention to detail, along with experience with reporting and databases. Must have experience with Microsoft Office, and experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Successful candidates will be self-motivated and possess the ability to work as a team member within a complex organization requiring collaboration, teamwork, and communication.
