The Ticket Office Coordinator is primarily responsible for all inbound group ticket sales for Wharton Center and ticket sales for the Act One School Series and other Wharton Center Institute for Arts and Creativity events. This position also assists Wharton Center’s Ticket Office in event management to include building events in the Paciolan ticket software; maintains a full-service relationship on assigned events with touring show management, including comp requests and ticketing settlements; provides accounting oversight; third level supervision of students; provides customer service excellence, detailed management and maintenance of groups and assigned events. The candidate must be flexible and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in two to three years of college, technical, vocational, trade or business school with coursework arts management or retail; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in ticketing, performing arts or live entertainment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require certification in the area of employment.
Experience with a computerized ticketing system, preferably proven knowledge of the Paciolan ticketing system, including event set-up and maintenance; knowledge of arts and entertainment business; customer service; cash handling experience; strong verbal and written communication skills; financial settlements with touring artists; self-motivator with ability to work both independently and collaboratively; exercise good judgment; prioritize work accordingly to meet critical deadlines; listens and responds well to questions; actively participates in team discussions; advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
