Under the direction of the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing the Assistant Director responsibilities will include, but not limited to the planning, execution of marketing plans, promotions, and budgeting for assigned sports. •Position is responsible for generating revenue while enhancing game day experiences for student-athletes, students and fans at designated sporting events. •Work with ticketing, coaching staff, corporate sponsorship, and athletics strategic communications to organize athletics planning calendar that outline annual/seasonal promotions and events at assigned sporting events. •Assist with efforts to increase engagement and attendance with undergraduate and graduate students in the University at all athletic events.
Marketing: •Lead efforts for men’s and women’s soccer, women’s basketball, baseball that includes creation of scripts, coordination of music, in-game experience, and the fulfillment of sponsor related promotions •Assist external team with developing and designing both print and digital content to increase engagement with key stakeholders •Oversee the marketing intern program, to include hiring, scheduling, and educating •Consistent communication with coaching staff, team operations, sports information, event management for execution of promotions, game day •Work with ticket office and ticket sales to put together year-long ticket sales timeline, and plan out advertising and promotion of sales •This position must have a broad-based knowledge of sports. •Must have experience in sports marketing at the collegiate level as well as experience in coordinating and managing student groups. •Must possess good public relations skills. •Must have the ability to practice effective communication techniques both orally and in writing. •Effective supervisory practices and ability to plan and supervise the work of others. •Ability to analyze and interpret policy and procedural guidelines and to resolve problems and questions. •Skill in organizing and distributing workflow. •Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment, analyze and make decisions related to program content. •Ability to find creative solutions to any complications that may arise. •Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. •Demonstrate effective communication, superior customer service skills and work well in a positive team environment. •Must have working knowledge and experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and graphic design. •Must have knowledge of NCAA and Sun Belt Conference rules and regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1-3 years directly related experience or equivalency required.
Master’s degree preferred but not required.
