Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for Assistant Baseball Coach. This position is in the college's Athletic/Kinesiology department reporting to the Head Baseball coach, along with the Associate Dean/Athletic Director, Director, Kinesiology, Recreation, & Athletics.
The incumbent assists with developing and coordinating the intercollegiate baseball program; trains and coaches the team in preparation for intercollegiate competition; keeps and maintains records and equipment as required; operates within the scope of athletic policies under supervision of the Head Coach; recruits and evaluates perspective baseball student athletes and encourages their enrollment at Allan Hancock College; and oversees the preparation of a competitive baseball schedule. This position requires day, evening or weekends. This position may be eligible to teach part-time, must meet minimum qualifications for a Kinesiology/Athletic faculty member. The anticipated start date is January 2019.
The incumbent should be available to perform athletic event staff responsibilities 15-20 hours, weekly, during the fall semester only. This may include scorekeeping, ticket taking, organizing student workers, or other athletic event staff responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUN QUALIFICAITONS: The position requires a part-time instructor in at the California Community College level, for which the minimum academic qualification include a minimum of a Master's degree in the discipline of Kinesiology, or Bachelor's degree in the discipline or related discipline; plus six years of professional experience related to the discipline of the assignment or six years of teaching experience in the discipline of the assignment. Experience coaching competitive baseball, able to perform minimal administrative tasks. Eligible to drive campus vehicles.
SALARY: • Lecture Rate: $46.98 to $71.93 per hour depending upon education and experience • Lab Rate: $40.91 to $62.63 per hour depending upon education and experience • Activity Rate: $30.23 to $56.63 per hour depending upon education and experience
WORK SCHEDULE: Practices run 1pm – 4pm Monday – Friday with some Saturday practices and contests. Baseball Season runs begins in August and runs throughout the academic year, until May. Athletic event staff responsibilities are in the evenings and on weekends per athletic contest schedules.
SALARY: An assistant baseball coaching stipend of $3,000 to cover intercollegiate season from January to May. Athletic event staff hourly rate is $15.59 (program assistant III) Part-time faculty assignments are compensated at the part-time faculty, hourly rates, which are publicized on the part-time faculty salary scheduled.
