The Classic Center Theatre is a 2000+ seat performing arts venue in downtown Athens, Georgia. As part of a growing convention center complex, the venue often hosts convention, community and philanthropic activities in the space as well as professional touring shows, concerts, entertainers, and comedians. The Center’s collective box office volume is an estimated 2.5 million dollars annually and includes ticketing services for a Broadway season, college hockey, arena football, public ice skating and a variety of other non-theatrical events.
The Theatre Manager shall manage and support the daily operations and functions of the theatre to include but not be limited to rentals/sales, ticketing, ushers, front of house staffing, event planning, financial management, financial reconciliations/settlements, patron services, technical/production, and ensuring overall successful event execution. The position collaborates with and reports directly to the Assistant Executive Director in order to direct and administer all related business and event functions for the Theatre.
Overviews of specific key duties include, but are not limited to:
•Serve as primary senior manager for the daily activities, performance, and duties of theatre operational and event-level staff so that staff can complete their duties/assignments and executable tasks with clear direction, support and considered authority.
•With the assistance of key staff, position shall perform all primary duties and prepare all documents as the financial settlement lead for Theatre shows/performances/engagements involving ticketing services and related collected funds up to and including interpreting, reviewing and implementing reports generated directly from the ticketing system.
•Position shall be primary lead and have direct supervision of the Ticketing Services Manager(s) and all of the box office operations for the facility. Activities will include pre-on sale advance review, communications, and approvals on ticketing builds within the software system. Role will serve as lead contact and liaison with the venues ticketing software provider on a regular basis.
•Oversee, engage, and support all guest services/patron management programs and initiatives in the Theatre to ensure patrons to the venue have a consistent, safe, professional and impressive experience while attending events and activities.
•Assist Assistant Executive Director in an active leadership role with a variety of sales, rentals, programming and booking activities as required to ensure programming needs/goals for the facility are effectively met and to service outside renters and promoters in a time effective and accurate means.
•Role will be expected to assimilate and embrace the organizations overall brand statement and core values of hospitality, teamwork, and servant style leadership in an effort to provide outstanding service to clients, guests, patrons, and internal customers (staff).
•Role is subject to the nature of entertainment events being most often held on evenings and weekends and thusly require an irregular and often extended work schedule in order to meet event requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk extensively, stand, climb stairs, and occasionally required to kneel, or climb ramped walkways. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30-50 pounds.
Four (4) year College degree preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in theatre event operations and management.
Good working knowledge of ticketing operations and the overall entertainment industry.
Candidate must be able to use and be comfortable with all Microsoft Office programs, including Excel
Ability to demonstrate:
A good knowledge of basic Accounting.

An ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Fluent in the English language- written, comprehension, and spoken word.
