1.Coordinates all aspects of the building operation and delivery of services to patrons and the event client. Serves as responsible on site manager at events. Ensures that wide standards of customer service levels in all areas are maintained and enhanced. 2.Ascertains technical requirements and other details from clients, shows the facility, as required, and ensures clients’ needs and requirements are met or exceeded. Prepares written details for each event, prepares floor plans and distributes to the respective departments. 3.Directs operations staff, catering, electrical, security and other contractors, involved in delivering event requirements, and arranges technical meetings to ensure completion of all tasks and arrangements. 4.Maintains and documents facility operating procedures manual and ensures compliance with these procedures in the operations and events of the facility. 5.Development and maintenance of the venue customer service manual. 6.Hires, trains and evaluates front of house staff and contracted services, conducting performance management, and when required, disciplinary action. 7.Schedules appropriate levels of contracted services for each event. 8.Oversees and manages merchandise sold at events and responsible for event merchandise settlements. 9.Receives and answers a variety of enquiries concerning the type and availability of services and facilities. 10.Provides service costs and estimates and rental rates from predetermined schedules. 11.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a recognized, two year, post-secondary diploma program in marketing, hospitality or tourism.
Three years’ experience related to the hospitality or public assembly facility industry. Experience in concert rigging, crowd control and security, alcohol management practices would be an asset.
Knowledge of the principles of office management and modern office procedures and systems.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, concepts and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to train, motivate and supervise event staff.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and employees.
Skill in the operation of office equipment, including a computer with Microsoft Office spreadsheet and word-processing software.
