The purpose of this position is to ensure the safety and quality of the setup of the Allen Event Center, a multipurpose arena. This is accomplished by coordinating, overseeing and participating in facility changeover based on events and various maintenance services. Other duties may include maintaining building systems, structure and property, setup for events and special activities, carpentry, construction and fabrication, coordinating third party work crew activities, assisting with special event and emergency situations, maintaining inventories, providing various forms of administrative service and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position provides direction to other employees.
This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent. * Coordinates with third party work crews for building change over and monitors work by attending AEC changeovers, providing input and feedback to work crews on quality of service, generating and coordinating schedules, and maintaining relationships with contractors. * Coordinates and participates in the change-over of special use buildings and facilities for special events and activities. * Completes construction, carpentry and fabrication to support public facility usage for events. * Assists in creating, implementing, and monitoring preventative maintenance and facility usage programs and procedures for building equipment, rigging system, and building interior/exterior by developing, coordinating, and documenting training and authorization of City staff, subcontractors and other non-facility staff in the proper use of facility equipment and systems. * Assists with special events and emergency situations by setting up and breaking down special event equipment, cleaning and preparing special event locations, administering de-icer to sidewalks, cleaning up after high water events, removing fallen tree limbs and providing other forms of assistance as requested. * Maintains inventories by assessing material, supply and equipment needs, contacting vendors for bids, monitoring contractors, picking up parts from vendors or having parts delivered and ensuring proper orders are received. * Provides various forms of administrative support by creating and maintaining documents and records, drafting conversion checklists, reviewing and verifying third party invoices, and providing cost estimates for AEC budgets and conversions from technical riders.
Formal Education / Knowledge
Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, and office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
Experience Three years of relevant experience in multipurpose facilities, conventional centers, arenas, or event spaces.
Certification and Other Requirements Valid Class C Drivers License. Fork lift certification and rigging certification preferred.
