The Senior Director of Campus Operations reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the strategic planning, execution and direction of the Facility Management and Facility Operations departments which include the following functions: housekeeping, event set up, ground maintenance, utility/exhibitor services, and skilled trades’ functions. This position plays a vital role in the organization by ensuring all maintenance and service delivery for the campus are executed safely, efficiently and within regulatory guidelines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop strategic direction for facility management and facility operations functions
Maintain and update a departmental policies, standard operating procedures and the quality operating program
Plan and implement opportunities to align the Commercial, Operations, and Administration functional areas
Annually review the total quality management program for operations and update as required.
Plan and implement an effective preventive maintenance program for all electrical, mechanical and architectural components, systems and structures
Plan, develop and administer annual budgets; maintain control of operating expenses; rolling forecast and manage expense line items for the departments; update the rolling year end forecast as required; define operating costs centers
Coordinate all inspections with outside regulatory agencies
Maintain programs for inspection of facilities
Lead inspections of the facilities
Provide leadership and oversight for the utility/exhibitor services division inclusive of on-line ordering, operational planning, operational staffing, operational servicing, operational execution, and reconciliation of the event
Partner with Corporate Social Responsibility to seek continuous opportunities to support sustainability efforts
Prepare, publish and maintain a long-range capital program for the GWCCA facilities. The program will be utilized to prioritize the annual Office of Planning and Budget requests plus align the annual operating budget priorities. Implement and execute priorities generated from the plan based upon schedule, funding and priorities.
Effectively communicate and collaborate regularly with stakeholders within the organization to ensure program objectives are being met
Build and lead high performing teams; attract and retain the best qualified candidates. Create and keep a succession plan for department.
Monitor team performance through use of objective metrics to include survey feedback from customers, exhibitors and attendees.
Develop, mentor and empower team to reach their full potential, both technically and professionally
Engage and maintain a relationship with all clients/customers of the Authority.
Proactively evaluate current and future services as well as make recommendations for continuous improvement
Such other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer

Convention center industry knowledge

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must have a Bachelor degree
Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of overall experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a major convention, hospitality, or multi-purpose facility
Must have a minimum of (3) years of experience in a management capacity
