Oversight of live stage production matters, including electrical requirements, suspension rigging assessment, loads distribution and installation, plus structural engineering concerns.
Interpret, review and draft architectural, structural, electrical and stage production design-CAD drawings.
Address logistical concerns, customs issues, production equipment sourcing and repairs, and other Live event production management matters.
Craft stagecraft-specific training program development and administration, plus corporate policy communication, promotion and adherence.
Maintain and promote regulatory compliance; maintain a thorough working knowledge on the application of various codes, regulations and standards in the live performance, event operations and venue management industries in the region.
Production management of or producing specific events and certain event types as the senior reference or person in charge, both internal constituent and external client events.
Consultative participation in resident professional sports league team theatrical presentation elements, ceremonies, and fan experience activations; from needs assessment and feasibility, to sourcing and budgeting.
Directly responsible for day-to-day and long-term IATSE union relations (stagehands local 58, wardrobe local 822 and hair and make-up local 822), including collective bargaining agreement negotiations, grievance and other arbitration hearings, payroll preparation and submission, labour deployment and expense estimation and settlement preparation.
Participation in LIVE department strategic discussion and planning.
Inter-department collaboration and participation in corporate planning and meetings on event safety and venue management.
10 – 15 years live performance and staged event production management experience from a combination of host-venue, presenter-promoter and stage producer perspectives. Live-to-air broadcast experience will be considered a contributing asset but is not required.
Labour relations and Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiation – IATSE locals 58 & 822.
AutoCAD – read, interpret, draw and modify architectural, structural, lighting and staging plots and plans.
Ability to establish and maintain regulatory contacts and relationships.
Functional knowledge of applicable building and fire codes, labour relations act and provincial employment regulations.
Reasonable knowledge on the application of Health and Safety Act regulations for both construction and industrial programs and industry contacts and relationships that influence and manage the interpretation of those standards.
Availability to work evenings/overnights and weekends as required.
