SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Ticket Office Manager at SMG/U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis. The Ticket Office Manager oversees day-to-day ticket sales and all aspects of the ticket office operations for the facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Direct and oversee the internal control of daily operations as outlined in the SMG Box Office Manual.
Coordinate all event information between the promoter, facility personnel and the ticket company in a timely manner.
Build and modify all computer ticket events and issue computer access codes to facility management.
Monitor daily ticket sales for all upcoming events and communicates information to the Directors and promoter representative.
Establish files on each event that consist of seats on-hold for the building and promoter, complimentary ticket, event audits and ticket inventory schedules.
Maintain communication with Ticketmaster representatives for updates and/or revisions in the computer operations.
Coordinate the house scale for all ticket events.
Maintain security of cash bank and accurate inventory of all tickets distributed and available for sale.
Account for cash bank and receipts (cash and credit card) from ticket sales.
Prepare and present the final box office statement for settlement for each event.
Create and produce all box office sales reports. Account for ticket sales for each event and provide accounting with reconciled daily activity reports.
Respond to customer complaints and service requests to maintain a positive rapport with the ticket buying public.
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Attend all pre-event production meetings and post event de-briefs.
Develop and maintain a positive harmonious working relationship with all the other departments.
Work all Vikings games in a capacity determined by AGM – Sales, Marketing and Administration.
Responsible for overseeing floor set for concerts: being present when floor is marked, checking floor set for accuracy.
Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Understand all aspects of box office operations. Possess a working knowledge of computer ticketing systems and the ability to update, integrate and implement procedure in response to state-of-the-art changes.
Comprehend and use bookkeeping principles and standard accounting practices.
Apply principles of organization, supervision, training, personnel development, staffing, and scheduling.
Recognize and solve problems rapidly and effectively while handling a large volume of tickets and cash in a fast-paced environment.
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages accurately and efficiently.
Operate standard office equipment including copier, scanner, and fax machine.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Minimum of three (3) years in the public assembly industry in a supervisory or management position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ticketmaster experience preferred.
Manage the Ticket Office Assistant Manager. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; scheduling; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Operate computerized ticketing system.
Operate event booking/scheduling software.
Operate a personal computer using Windows, Office, and other standard office equipment.
Must have strong computer skills, Excel, and Word.
