Assistant Director for Facilities and Game Management Athletics
Williams is pleased to announce the opening of an Assistant Director for Facilities and Game Management in the Department of Physical Education and Athletics. Reporting to the Associate Director of Facilities and Operations, the Assistant Director will be responsible for the day to day scheduling of the Williams College athletic facilities for athletic team practices and competitions, club sports, intramurals, physical education classes, recreation, and outside users. The Assistant Director will oversee the management of all events, primarily competitive athletic events, which includes coordinating, training, and supervising game day staff for the 32 varsity teams and junior varsity programs.
Williams College is a Division III member institution of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) with 32 men's and women's varsity teams. In varsity athletics, the Ephs have experienced success across the department at the national level, having won 21 of 23 Learfield Sports Directors' Cups awarded in NCAA Division III. In addition to the varsity programs, Williams has active JV, club, intramurals, and recreation programs with more than 60% of Williams' students competing on at least one varsity, junior varsity, or club team.

Organize the schedule of athletic spaces for numerous groups, including varsity, junior varsity, club sports, intramurals, and recreation on an ongoing basis. This includes all indoor and outdoor athletic spaces, lighting, and all athletic complex doors
Supervise and train game managers as on-site experts
Recruit, train, and supervise student game workers
Coordinate parking and security for events
Coordinate aspects specific to postseason competition, such as tickets and merchandise
Coordinate coaches' technology needs: hardware, software, game breakdown applications
Support and collaborate with Associate Director for Operations and Facilities as needed
Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience in facilities and/or sports management
In-depth knowledge of Williams' athletics 32 varsity teams and junior varsity programs
Ability to operate sport venue equipment such as scoreboards and public address systems
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Must be detail oriented, organized, and have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a diverse group, including coaches, staff, students, fans, and others beyond the College
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Supervisory experience essential
Occasional evening and weekends required
