The VP of Arena Operations position reports directly to the Sr. Vice President of Arena Operations
The VP of Arena Operations will have primary oversight of the daily event operations in the arena, training center, medical building, entertainment block, parking structures.
The VP of Arena Operations will oversee day to event operations and housekeeping team of 10+ full time staff members.
The VP of Arena Operations will assist in oversite of event, facilities, building and housekeeping operations.
Assist in the development and management of the Event and Housekeeping annual operating budget.
Oversee and manage all service partners and suppliers.
Oversee all event and housekeeping operations, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the arena, training center, medical building, live entertainment block and parking structures
Internal organizational direct reports include: Event Managers & Coordinators & Housekeeping Department. This position will be responsible for managing the Event Operations Department with a primary focus on event management, staffing oversite, housekeeping, purchasing & storage management.
Implement and maintain all Standard Operating Procedures sitewide.
Create service level agreements and Key Performance Indicators for both internal and external partners and user groups.
Create annual event operations and housekeeping staffing budgets.
Foster an environment that encourages innovation and implementation of best practices to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs while increasing productivity.
Attends appropriate planning, organization and other event and facility meetings in support of arena operations.
Oversees the training and development of Event Manager(s) and Coordinator(s)
Manage the continuing implementation of the Facilities Safety Program
Act as Manager on Duty for arena and site as required.
Prepare and maintain required and necessary reports/records.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum of 12 years of leadership and operations experience in a professional sports venue.
Experience in opening a multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue.
Proven knowledge and experience in leadership, strategic planning, operations, financial management, and production of large-scale events with multi-million dollar budgets.
Supervising and evaluating staff performance.
Exceptional project and personnel management skills.
Keen understanding and recognition of what is needed to provide a best in class experience.
In depth knowledge of event management & housekeeping management.
Proven ability to solve and resolve to satisfaction the needs and requirements of internal and external arena and site user groups.
Strong entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to create an effective operations culture and implement essential operations protocols; strong business sense with the ability to build, communicate and persuasively champion for existing and potential opportunities while establishing and maintaining influential partnerships at all levels.

Event Operations Director
Ability to create a strong working relationship with current and future employees.

Ability to evaluate and reduce Event Operating, Staffing & Housekeeping operating expenses year over year.
Creatively reduce event operating expenses while maintaining overall customer satisfaction.
Reduce spending on staffing and equipment used for events and housekeeping.
