The United States Military Academy is seeking a creative and qualified individual to support the digital and creative media initiatives associated with the Army West Point Athletic Association’s NCAA Division I programs.
Applicants must have a strong understanding of creative and digital media trends, while also being able to tell compelling stories about West Point’s 1,000-plus cadet-athletes. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while keeping organized and maintaining high standards for all work performed. Candidates must be a self-starter and be able to work together as part of a team.
Responsibilities •Shooting, editing and creating feature, highlight and interview videos to promote athletics teams (on athletics website and through social media channels). •The videos are, but not limited to, hype and intro videos, features, videoboard content creation as well as fan engagement videos. •Conceptualize, shoot, and edit creative video content for all Army West Point athletic teams and bring energy and ideas to the creative department. •Create short-form video pieces for Army West Point social media accounts. •Produce motion graphics and GIF content when needed. •Collaborate with multiple departments within the Army West Point Athletic Association such as communications, marketing, ticket sales and the Army A Club. •Continue to enhance the Black Knights’ brand by remaining current with emerging trends in social media. •Help Army West Point maintain and continue to build its digital strategy and goals by creating compelling content that achieves success for our cadet-athletes, coaches and brand.
At least one year of experience in a collegiate sports creative, multimedia or communications office.
Ability to think creatively and brainstorm for new ideas.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Detailed-oriented and strong organizational and project management skills.
Desire to work collaboratively with a team, but also take on tasks individually.
Strong work ethic and willingness to work odd hours, including holidays and weekends.
Must possess a bachelor’s degree in a communications-related field.
Strong video editing with the use of the Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects.
Knowledge of Sony and Conan video equipment is preferred.
Broad-based knowledge of Division I athletics and NCAA regulations.
