JOB SUMMARY Manages, coordinates and executes sales efforts for the arena including suite sales, sponsorship, signage, event sponsorships, premium seating, catering and other general sales functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Directly or indirectly sells venue advertising, signage, sponsorship packages, suites and premium seating, club memberships and other revenue producing assets. Assists in the development and coordination of premium food and beverage functions with the food and beverage department as it pertains to the suite level, premium seating areas and catering events. Manages the suite accounts regarding additional tickets, catering, special requests and updating the account holder when new events are announced. Adheres to the sales departmental budget as established by Associate Executive Director. Meets annual sales departmental goals and objectives. Customer Focus: Dedicated to meeting and/or exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers and building relationships within the community. Requires work in excess of 40 hours per week and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as event schedule demands.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Gathers, records and compares premium seating event attendance monthly, quarterly and year-to-date. Forecasts premium event attendance and economic impact to develop the annual budget. Attends and contributes at weekly staff meetings. Attendance during regularly scheduled hours, position may include nights and weekends. Plans and monitors special events and gifts regarding suite and premium seat holders. Serves as a liaison with other event staff affecting the suite level, including security, maintenance, event services, food and beverage, and guest services. Attends training seminars and conferences when offered. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Preferred candidate will possess the following:
Four-year degree in sales/marketing/communications or related field.
A minimum of three to five years previous experience. Knowledge of sales development and customer relations.
Demonstrated knowledge of event center practices including ability to follow instructions.
Knowledge of Excel and Word processing programs.
About Grossinger Motors Arena
On August 19, 2004, the City of Bloomington broke ground on the construction of a $37 million entertainment venue that was built in thriving Downtown Bloomington.
Grossinger Motors Arena has been the home venue for several hockey, indoor football, and basketball teams. Home hockey teams included Bloomington Prairie Thunder (UHL/IHL/CHL affiliations from 2006-2011), Bloomington Blaze (CHL from 2011-2013), Bloomington Thunder (SPHL from 2013-2014), and the Central Illinois Flying Aces (USHL from 2014 – present). Home Football teams were Bloomington Extreme (UIF/IFL from 2006 - 2012), and Bloomington Edge (CIFL/XLIFL/CIF/IFL affiliations from 2012-present). Home basketball teams were Central Illinois Drive (MPBA 2011-2012 ), and Bloomington Flex (MBPA from 2012-2015). Grossinger Motors Arena is also host to the Illinois State Redbird Hockey Club.
In addition to its sports tenants, Grossinger Motors Arena has also hosted an array of events, including concerts, family shows, ice shows, motors sports, and trade shows. Grossinger Motors Arena has also been the location for local graduation ceremonies, Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals Caravans, Illinois High School Associ...ation’s regional and state tournaments, and a wide variety of private meetings and wedding receptions.
On April 1, 2016, VenuWorks of Bloomington was selected by the City of Bloomington as the new management company for the facility.
In June 2017, Grossinger Motors became the new naming rights sponsor of the Arena and the name was officially changed to Grossinger Motors Arena.
