The Associate Athletic Director for Marketing & Fan Engagement provides strategic and effective leadership of marketing, fan experience, community engagement, and special events within the Athletics Department. This position is a highly visible leadership role requiring an individual with outstanding interpersonal skills. The individual in this position must be able to direct the influence of the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics to achieve departmental goals, while effectively leading and managing assigned responsibilities and projects. The successful candidate should be assertive and confident yet approachable and respectful, with a proven track record of building collaborative relationships across campus and in the community, developing innovative marketing strategies, building attendance and optimizing the fan experience.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Primarily responsible for strategic and effective leadership of marketing, the fan experience, community engagement, and other special events for the Bradley Athletics Department. Directly responsible for the oversight, supervision, and development of the Director of Creative Productions, Marketing Assistant, Cheer Coach, and game day student marketing staff. Also responsible for management of band partnership.
Responsible for effective strategic leadership, planning, coordination and implementation of all internal and external marketing objectives for the Bradley Athletic Department and all 15 NCAA Division I sports programs.
Responsible for all development, production and execution of creative concepts for marketing campaigns for ticket sales of all ticketed sports, including print, digital, and video elements.
Responsible for serving as an engaged member of the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics’ Senior Staff.
Serve as an effective sport administrator for assigned team(s), working closely with assigned head coaches to advance and support the success of associated sport programs.
Work closely with the Associate Athletic Director for Communications & Operations and the Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Sales & Operations to ensure the development and implementation of Bradley’s digital presence through marketing initiatives centered on social media, email marketing and website development of the official athletic website, bradleybraves.com.
Effectively oversee game day execution of established marketing plan, including but not limited to promotions, giveaways, crowd engagement and video production.
Responsible for effective marketing of promotions and events via all channels and media, e.g. bradleybraves.com, social media, print, electronic media, etc.
Develop effective relationships with fans and work to build fan-centered game day culture for all sports.
In conjunction with the Associate Athletic Director for Communications & Operations, responsible for cultivating fan engagement on all Bradley Athletics owned social media sites including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.
Responsible for providing game management guidance to Learfield/Bradley Sports Properties regarding sponsorship activation at all Bradley Athletics events.
As directed, required to effectively support Bradley Athletics fundraising efforts.
Responsible for maintaining athletic marketing budget. Exercises independent discretion on all purchases and budgetary decision for athletics marketing and fan engagement unit.
A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sports management or related field is required. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, professional or college athletics is required.
Qualified candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills while having the ability to perform detailed, professional and creative work and develop and maintain relationships with coaches, athletic department staff members, campus staff, interns and student workers in a positive environment is crucial. The successful candidate must fully comply with NCAA and Missouri Valley Conference rules and be comfortable upholding the mission and values of Bradley Athletics. The successful candidate must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record while serving in the position.
