The Ohio State University Department of Athletics is seeking a Fan Experience and Promotions Intern. This internship position that will support the Fan Experience and Promotion staff by assisting in developing marketing and promotional plans for assigned sports. The position will require a strong candidate who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Duties include, but not limited to: developing marketing, promotional, advertising, and ticketing plans for designated sports and manage individual sports budgets; coordinating pre-game, in-game and post-game promotional activities to enhance the game day experience for fans and our student athletes; oversight of summer community engagement events; managing student street team program; assisting with implementation and execution of football game-day elements; and assisting with the integration and activation of corporate sponsorship. This is an entry level, career-based internship and is intended for professional development of an applicant with only 6 to 24 months of practical experience. Internship positions are a 1 year non renewable appointment. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
Preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, sports management or related field. At least 2 years of athletic marketing experience in collegiate athletics and/or professional athletics required. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with a large and diverse population. Proficiency with computer applications and general office software programs is necessary. In addition the candidate must be comfortable generating innovative ideas and exploring alternative approaches and solutions to problems. The candidate must be a dynamic problem solver, proactive planner, and demonstrate a willingness of collaborate.
Position will require a flexible work schedule based on events including evenings and weekends.
