The Manager Entertainment Events & brand Activation at MGM Springfield will provide leadership and strategic direction to the property’s entertainment venues and department teams, while overseeing promoter and artist relations from contract execution, the event management team, staff scheduling, and all front of house operations for the entertainment venues and events. This role is responsible for driving results, managing a variety of stakeholder relationships and strategic initiatives impacting the Company’s Corporate Entertainment strategic plan. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the departmental and Springfield policies, practices, and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the front of house operations, including but not limited to, food and beverage, décor, show marketing, event management, event staffing and artist / promoter relations for all MGM Springfield entertainment events in Symphony Hall, the Plaza, the Armory and meeting / convention space.
Administers the contracting of local and regional artists, DJ’s and specialty bands for events and venues on property.
Directs and tracks event budgets/forecast/results, monitors event expenditures, and prepares justification for budget variations, and increases to events.
Works with Entertainment Finance Manager on all venue and artist settlements to ensure expenses and revenues are tracked appropriatley
Coordinates in collaboration with the Ticket Office Manager on sight line issues and ticket holds and releases, ensuring maximized revenue on a daily basis.
Develops relationships with promoters, clients and artist representatives to ensure artists have a first-class experience from event confirmation to successful execution of events.
Collaborates with the casino marketing department, sales department and nightlife department on entertainment ideas and entertainment packages designed specifically for each client’s needs.
Directs Human Resources responsibilities including: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompasses the company’s diversity commitment; adherence to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements.
Event Services Manager (2)
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or other related fields.
Minimum five (5) years high-level experience with entertainment managing a team and experience with venue programming from music, theater, and non-traditional performance events.
Effectively communicate in English, both oral and written forms
Entertainment experience in a resort environment.
Experience recruiting, and developing employees with an emphasis on employee engagement, recognition and performance management.
Experience in financial analysis, accounting principles and theories with the successful application of these concepts in a hotel/casino environment.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.

Good working knowledge of computer software to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and/or equivalent.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment while maintaining proper mental attitude.
Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to MGM Resorts standards.
Ability to work a demanding schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, double shifts.
Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.
This position may require strenuous physical activities. An ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends and holidays may also be required.
