The University of Texas at Tyler seeks an innovative and energetic leader to oversee all aspects of a new outdoor venue, the Patriot Plaza, as well as other outdoor spaces on campus. The Director of the Patriot Plaza will be an experienced senior leader in the management of performing arts facilities.
The Director of the Patriot Plaza is responsible for programming, scheduling, and booking decisions for the Patriot Plaza consistent with the vision for The University of Texas at Tyler. This person will oversee every aspect of day-to-day operations of all outdoor spaces, including coordinating with on-campus stakeholders to deliver outdoor Commencement Ceremonies, and working outside vendors to host local, national, and international artistic performances. The successful applicant must be able to build strong, sustainable relationships, and will play a key role in expanding the scope of a dynamic performing arts center. Background in working with performing arts agencies and negotiating performance contracts is critical. The Director will work with UT Tyler leadership to set strategic objectives that foster strong public participation and attendance at on-campus events while managing outdoor spaces on the campus in a financially sustainable way.

Bachelor’s degree in related field
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in management of performance venues
Additional Salary Information: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
