The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for a creative and motivated candidate to fill a Director position in our Communications Department. This position will require an engaged, out of the box thinker that isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo. While having the opportunity to work in the exciting field of collegiate athletics, this position interacts directly with the head coach, assistant coaches and student athletes for the Gators Football program. In addition, it serves as the content manager for the entire athletic department.

Interviews may be conducted prior to the closing date, but no offer of employment will be extended until after the position closes. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a Communications associated field as well as two years of professional experience in one of these fields are required. Preference will be given to candidates with related experience in an intercollegiate or professional athletics environment. Experience in working with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Design suite is also required. The ability to communicate effectively, develop and execute strategic plans and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers is essential for this position. Requires the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment while making decisions when performing job responsibilities. The ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds is essential. The ability to work a non-standard work schedule which will include evenings, weekends, holidays and extensive overnight travel is also required.
