Berry Center is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director - Facilities & Public Safety. This position will provide leadership and direction for its operations and develop all aspects of public safety. The position plans, develops, recommends and implements systems, equipment and training programs to provide for the safety and security of clients, visitors and staff. Manage supervisory and staff performing support operations. Develop and oversee the department's purchases, project and budget and long-range plans.
Ensure the safety of the facility, employees and guests on premises. Provide oversight of the guest services, event security, EMT, and CFPD to ensure appropriate compliance and coverage for all events.
Manages and directs facilities operations, custodial and guest services departments.
Responsible for direct support and coordination of event space in direct support of and based upon the requirements for events in coordination with all other Berry Center departments.
Develop and oversee the facilities and custodial operating purchases, projects and budgets and long-range plans.
Update and maintain preventative maintenance program for necessary equipment.
Conduct/attend facility event production meetings/planning sessions and ensure that staffing and equipment needs for events are met.
Responsible for the coordination of event details with internal staff, preferred providers services and outsourced contractors to meet client needs.
Motivate staff to facilitate a teamwork approach combining expertise and manpower for the completion of projects.
Review, update and train staff of emergency plans and public safety/security policies and procedures in accordance with Cy-Fair Police Department/Emergency Management Department.
Serve as safety officer representative for facility with CFISD to ensure strict adherence to safe work practices, city and state code compliance, and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements
Carry out supervisory responsibilities of all events held at Berry Center in accordance with the organization’s procedures. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipling employees; addressing issues and solving problems and regularly communicating with staff.
Maintain Berry Center Employee Handbook in conjunction with CFISD Handbook.
Berry Center is a public assembly facility that features an 8,000 seat arena, 11,000 seat stadium (CF-FCU Stadium), 486 seat theatre and 15,000 sq. ft. conference center with 4,000 on site parking spaces located in NW Houston. It is owned by the Cy-Fair Independent School District, the 3rd largest K-12 school district in Texas. It's main function is to provide support for events to enhance our students and staff experience. The facility is an in-house operation that employees 60 full-time employees which staff for operations, concessions, production and show/event support.
Berry Center is the host of the UIL State of TX Wrestling competition, concerts and family shows yearly.
