Under general supervision of the Director of Operations, manage and coordinate personnel, subcontractors and daily activities involved in the successful execution of events by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities •Manages all aspects of operations within the building and grounds including setup for events, housekeeping and cleanliness of both the Oklahoma City Convention Center and the Cox Convention Center. •Directly oversee supervisors, full time, part time and contracted employees including hiring, training, scheduling and disciplining. •Develop reports on equipment status, inventory levels, monthly activities and other events to record operations activities to support requirements. •Review and understand the event schedule and requirements to ensure proper balancing of priorities between customer/event needs. •Communicate with Director of Operations/Event Managers to ensure customer/event requirements are met with appropriate staffing levels. •Conduct routine walkthroughs of all facility spaces in order to assess daily cleanliness, ensure equipment is stored properly, set-up and teardown deadlines are being met and that work is being in a safe manner. •Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to the Director of Operations. •Reports building maintenance and repair needs to the appropriate personnel. •Ensure housekeeping staff maintain custodial and maintenance equipment that is clean and fit for purpose, arranging for replacements as needed; attends required meetings and serve, as appropriate on staff committees. •Develop and implement maintenance plans for all housekeeping equipment. •Complete, review and authorize all requests for staff PTO requests in a timely manner and in accordance with ASM Global standard operating procedures. •Weekly Payroll functions include timesheet approval, entering employees into the timeclock and data entry into the payroll system in a timely manner. •Responsible for administering immediate disciplinary actions including dismissing employees from active duty for department violations/procedures; works directly with the Director of Operations and human resources in coordinating disciplinary action in verbal, written and other relating disciplinary matters. •Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed. •Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. BS or BA in Business Administration and/or Management; Facility or Property Management or other closely related field preferred. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/ or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience. •Three (3) to (5) years related experience and/or training or in a public assembly facility or property management in a supervisory or management position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities •Supervision over work of managers, supervisors, full time and part time employees
Qualifications & Skills
•Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up and conversions; typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility; and proper use and care of hand and power tools. Demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. •Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations and emergency procedures established at the facility. •Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form. •Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative. •Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment. •Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
