As our Conversions Operation Manager, you will lead all aspects of planning, supervising, coordinating, scheduling and executing activities and operations of the Conversions Department including overnight conversions, ice makes, and other major change overs at the Rose Quarter. You’ll provide highly responsible staff assistance and be the decision-making manager on site during overnight hours between events at the Rose Quarter. This person will be supervising a crew of employees in completing arena conversions in a timely and safe manner.
You will be responsible for:
•Overseeing conversion timelines, goals, quality-assurance, and safety training of crews.
•Identifying department inefficiencies and provides solutions for improvements.
•Responsible for the day-to-day work of the Overnight Conversion crew.
•Preparing monthly Conversion work calendar for cross departmental use in accordance with heavy event load.
•Recruiting, training, scheduling and supervising conversion personal to include full-time, part-time and contract employees. Handles all crew performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
•Assisting Sr. Department Manager with the development of departmental operating budgets and goals.
•Responsible for scheduling of staff through company software system and subsequent payroll procedures; reporting event costs to Event Manager.
•Coordinating with other departments and contractors as needed on event and non-event days. Confirms event information from Event Management and Productions and directs department accordingly.
•Helping to maintain and manage building inventory. Assures proper storage of Conversion equipment, tools, and supplies as needed.
•Ensuring proper staff and equipment are in place for every event from large events to small catering events.
•Working closely with Facility operations department to maintain equipment and ensure it is in excellent working order. Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures to ensure that the highest possible standards of operations are met and sustained.
•Assisting Sr. Department Manager with purchasing of supplies and equipment, including capital improvements for the Conversions department.

Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Can work inconsistent schedules primarily covering the overnight shift including weekends and holidays.
You can demonstrate excellent people management skills and have experience effectively leading and supervising a team.
You have experience driving a forklift (certification preferred).
The schedule for this position is primarily overnights. However, this position will work days for the majority if not all the remainder of 2020, possibly longer, due to the current public gathering restrictions associated with the pandemic. This schedule will shift to overnights with advanced notice.
