The City of Tempe Arts & Culture Division seeks a Box Office Coordinator for Tempe Center for the Arts. This position will perform a variety of professional and administrative duties involved in the implementation, coordination and operation of the city’s Art & Culture Division programs, services and facilities.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist in the process to recruit, hire, train, schedule, oversee and evaluate staff and volunteers associated with the delivery of programs and services and the operation of Tempe Center for the Arts (TCA).
Participate and monitor box office operating budget. Participates in the overall facility budget process.
Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day operation of the TCA box office; oversee and supervise ticket selling, cash management and all ticket-related customer service functions.
Coordinate, operate and supervise all aspects of the TCA’s computerized ticketing system, including but not limited to performance-specific seating map set-up, series and subscription management, software upgrades with contracted ticketing provider, event and season information for sales, data collection and reporting.
Ensure operational readiness of all box office systems and equipment. Advise on procedural and technical needs and/or changes to box office operation.
Serve as liaison with all ticketed event clients. Provide guidance and direction to clients regarding deployment of ticketing system.
Control and maintain ticket patron database to ensure accuracy and security of information. Provide reports to management as requested.
Work Experience: Requires three years of supervisory experience in box-office operations and ticketing sales utilizing computerized ticketing systems. Applicable experience may include front of house operations, box office operations, catering services, and/or house management.
Education: Requires the equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in fine arts, performing arts, arts management, business, education or a degree related to the core functions of the position.

The strikingly magnificent TCA, designed by Tempe-based Architekton and award-winning Barton Myers Associates of Los Angeles, houses a state-of-the-art, 600-seat proscenium theater, a 200-seat studio theater and a 3,500 square-foot gallery. The finely appointed Lakeside overlooks Town Lake, with views of the Papago and Camelback mountains, and is available for meetings, banquets and special events. TCA is located on the southwest end of Tempe Town Lake and resides in a beautifully appointed 17-acre lakeside art park developed by Design Workshop, a Tempe landscape architecture firm. TCA features a roof made of complex geometric folded plates. The roof is highly visible from the surrounding freeways and the man-made Tempe Town Lake, which occupies the natural watercourse of the Salt River, immediately adjacent to the site. It is also visible by many airplanes landing at Phoenix ...Sky Harbor International Airport, two miles west of the building.
TCA opened on Sept. 9, 2007 as a premiere rental facility and offered many free public program series. In 2016, TCA began producing and presenting a performing arts season of programming. TCA continued its programming efforts with existing partners and residencies.
The City of Tempe offers visual and performing arts through Arts & Cultural Services which is comprised of TCA, Tempe Public Art Program, Arts Engagement, Tempe History Museum, Tempe Galleries, Edna Arts Activity Center, the Studio Artists Program and Community Arts Events.
