The Department of Athletics at Wofford College, a member of the Southern Conference, is seeking three interns for external operations positions. Wofford College supports 19 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs. These are 10-month internships beginning in August 2021 that will require day-to-day office duties and game day responsibilities.
Graphic Design (1 Opening) 1.Serve as the only graphic designer for Wofford College’s Department of Athletics. 2.Create all digital content for football, basketball, volleyball and lacrosse video boards. 3.Create content for use on social media, print, website, recruiting and other communication tools. 4.Design artwork for a variety of promotional giveaway items. 5.Assist with creating and enhancing content within the department’s current marketing campaign. 6.Assist with game day responsibilities for sports included but not limited to football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball. 7.Proactively work within a small team environment and manage multiple projects at once. 8.Report directly to the Director of Marketing and Promotions in an effort to increase attendance and create engaging content. 9.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Promotions.
Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree required. •Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and graphic design applications. •Previous experience in collegiate or professional sports preferred. •Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. •Organized, dependable, punctual, willing to learn and a self-starter. •Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays. Marketing Assistant (1 Opening) 1.Serve as the primary marketing contact for women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, lacrosse and additional NCAA Division I programs. 2.Learn and operate various production elements including but not limited to basketball, football, volleyball and lacrosse game days, including the operation of Click Effects music and Daktronics software. 3.Oversee the Wofford Sports Marketing student-worker staff and student-worker event schedule. 4.Schedule and assign staff, volunteers and performers to handle game day operations (i.e. public-address announcer, national anthem performers, halftime performers, etc.). 5.Involved with social media and digital marketing efforts for the official social media accounts of the Wofford Terriers. 6.Actively sell season, group and single-game tickets for football, men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball. 7.Work to continually improve on-campus marketing efforts and student outreach. 8.Represent Wofford Athletics at community events and increase brand awareness. 9.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Promotions.
