The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).
The Director of Ticket Services is responsible for, and will be the primary manager and point of contact for Baseball and Gymnastics. May assist with other sports as needed. Responsibilities include event creation, presentation and maintenance, pre-event sales, game-day sales preparation, ticket operations at events and post-event reconciliation. This position is responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and scheduling all student workers in the athletic ticket office. This position will manage the day-to-day operations of the box office and will provide updates to the Assistant Athletic Director of Ticket Services to include but not limited to: customer service and technology issues, employee performance and sales trends. Additionally, this position will assist with ticket operations for Football and run the sales booth operations on game days.
Position Duties: 30% TICKET MANAGER This position provides leadership and strategic direction to maximize ticket revenue for Baseball and Gymnastics. May assist with other sports as needed. This position sets season, individual, and mini-plan ticket prices for assigned sports which will have a direct impact on revenue generation, marketing, video, Our Beaver Nation, and setting of precedence moving forward. This position is available to both internal (coaches and staff, marketing, video, Our Beaver Nation, students, student athletes) and external (alumni, boosters, general public, PAC12 peers, Paciolan representative/contact) partners and customers. Problem-solves and assists public with ticket issues on sight, which may involve making exceptions to policies and procedures. For events, position is responsible for pre-event sales, location set up, event ticket operations management, recording home game attendance, auditing, and reporting and all other related post-event reconciliation. This position may be required to travel with assigned sports for post-season or pre-conference events. Provides leadership on all Customer Service initiatives for the unit. Has the authority to make discretionary exceptions to policy and may act as the leader of the unit as well as the Assistant Athletic Director of Tickets in his/her absence.
30% BOX OFFICE MANAGEMENT This position will oversee the daily operations of the box office. Provides leadership on customer service initiatives via phone, window or email. Responds to customer inquiries directed to beaver.ticket@oregonstate.edu. Provides workflow for customer service representatives and students. Provides the Assistant Athletic Director of Ticket Operations updates on issues or trends in the box office. Manages set-up of computers and BOCA printers in the ticket office and ticket booths at all venues.
15% STAFF SUPERVISION This position has full supervision over multiple classified or professional faculty employees, as well as a team of student workers. This position aids in the direction of student worker program to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of student workers. Responsible for creating and posting the position description and posting the student job online, interviewing candidates, hiring qualified student workers, and mentoring and training students in the office. Coordinates the scheduling for office hours during business hours and all athletic events throughout the school year.
15% EVENTS Oversees the sales booth for Football on game days. This includes game-day preparation and sales and post-event reconciliation. This person also manages all student workers on Football game days. Responsibilities also include managing all home events for assigned sports (Baseball and Gymnastics) as well as traveling for any pre-conference, post-season or conference tournament events. This position may also be required to work events for other sports as needed.
10% GENERAL OFFICE DUTIES This position will ensure that all ticket offices and booths are always presentable to the public, both visually and in regards to office preparedness. This includes coordinating routine office cleaning and organizing. Assists with processing orders and donations via phone and window when necessary. Responsible for updating ticket information on osubeavers.com and beavertickets.com and/or sending the updated information to sports information or ideation to update. Does graphic design work for mobile headers, seating maps and other design needs for the ticket office.
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of experience in collegiate athletics ticketing (student experience may be considered at a .5 rate)
- A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
- This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
