The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).
This position will perform lead functions (operates as the point person) on all matters related to accounts payable, foundation, plant fund / facility projects and helps manage vendor relationships. This position will also act as departmental liaison between the OSU Foundation and OSU Facilities departments. This will include all accounting and reporting associated with these two entities, as well as other duties as described by the Business Office leadership.

Work within OSU, Athletics, State of Oregon including BOLI, OSU Foundation and NCAA policies, procedures, and regulations with the ability to clearly communicate and interpret to units supported.

Position Duties: 30% ACCOUNTS PAYABLE • Accounts Payable invoice processing and PO/Requisition paperwork.
20% EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLY PURCHASING • Responsible for athletic departmental equipment and supply purchasing. • Analyze current spending to recommend changes that would make departmental spending more efficient by negotiating economies of scale.
20% OSU FOUNDATION ACCOUNTS COORDINATION • Responsible for disbursement/reimbursement and all financial matters relating to OSU Foundation accounts held outside the OSU Banner accounting system. • Provide Athletic Department foundation account managers pertinent balance information, and act as primary liaison with OSU Foundation in all accounting matters.
15% OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED • Aassist with management of the Verizon phone program. • Help with new employee phones, upgrades, returning old equipment and other phone related issues. • Serve as backup for ticket sales receipt and deposits, tracking and distributions. • Assist with any journal vouchers that need to be done.
10% MISCELLANEOUS FUNDS COORDINATION • Responsible for disbursement/reimbursement and all financial matters relating to OSU facilities, plant funds and athletic department construction projects.
5% AUDITING SUPPORT • Participates in the audit process by analyzing current processes, preparing reports to assist Associate Director as necessary • Make recommendations based on analysis of current audit practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with CPA or PA certificate;
OR
Bachelor’s degree with 30 quarter (20 semester) hours of college-level Accounting;
OR
30 quarter (20 semester) hours of Accounting courses and three years of Accounting experience*
*Accounting experience must include at least 3 of the following:
Preparing transactions to be recorded in records of original entry;
Preparing journal entries, posting from journals to general ledger, or preparing original general ledger entries;
Summarizing data from a ledger to a trial balance;
Closing accounts at the end of an accounting period;
Applying PC spreadsheet, database, and word processing software; Processing data using a computer.
Transcripts must be submitted for all required and/or related courses. All courses must be from accredited colleges, universities, or private vocational schools.
Proficient in systems such as MS Word, Excel.
Proven excellence in interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships at all levels.
Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills with the ability to initiate and complete projects within deadlines.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
