Soka University of America Athletics Department is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Athletics Operations Coordinator position.
Athletics Operations Coordinator will report to the Director of Athletics and assist in a variety of roles pertaining to facility, intramurals, and event operations, such as:
•Facilities Coordination- Assistance in monitoring maintenance, organization, safety, and upkeep of facilities. Working with staff to provide needed services related to each groups area of operation. Working on building access needs in coordination with campus safety. •Game Management- Oversight of assigned game day setup, scheduling, operation manuals, game contracts and logistics. Working with conference and officials to adequately operate under NAIA and conference rules. Coordinating needs of home and visiting teams, practice times for visiting teams, locker room coordination, and any other duties as needed. •Event Management- Oversight of internal and external events including promotional activities, sponsored events, staffing, service request, budgeting, and meeting event's needs. Creating and implementing operational plans related to each event.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:
•Supervision of the daily operation of the Recreation room; •Prepare facilities for practice and home events; •Issue, collect, maintain, and repair uniforms and equipment; •Responsible for scheduling of intramurals and fitness classes for campus community; •Assist in the implementations of SUA camps and clinic programs for college teams and area youth; •Secure all recreational facilities including gym and all recreational areas therein, two athletic fields, the track, tennis courts and aquatic center; •Prepare inventory for each sport; •Prepare budget; •Supervise laundry service for practice gear and uniforms; •Assign and supervise part time assistant and student staff; •Supervision of game day staff will include supervisory authority over the following: (including but not limited to): student workers, contracted vendors, facility management staff (i.e., grounds maintenance, custodial), athletic communications, athletic marketing, equipment staff, and ticket operations; •Coordinate with staffing to facilitate and instruct projects within the department to oversee student staff and event staff at all home sporting events; •Coordinate all intramural and fitness classes within the recreational center to accommodate campus community; •Assist with facilities scheduling including varsity and club team games and practices, camps, clinics, recreation services and external/rental users as well as other items as assigned; •Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications: Education •Bachelor's degree required Experience •Minimum of 3 years’ experience in collegiate athletics •Preferred knowledge of and compliance with NAIA and CalPac guidelines Skills •Requires strong critical thinking and decision-making skills •Ability to utilize technology including work processing and registration software •Ability to manage large groups of people in coordination of large-scale events •Ability to coordinate venue schedules for multiple venues and multiple teams •Strong written and oral communication skills •Ability to foster positive working relationships and effective interpersonal skills •Ability to problem solve and apply effective decision-making skills •High level organization skills •Efficient time management skills •Ability to communicate with various constituents, general public, students, coaches, administrators •Strong work ethic, organizational skills, customer service skills, computer proficiency, verbal/written communication •Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays •Superior integrity, ownership, accountability, and responsibility •Ability to be detail-oriented in a fast-paced high-pressure environment •Ability to schedule intramurals and fitness classes •Ability to set up events including, tables, chairs, tents, scoreboard, etc. •Ability to stand for extended periods in variable weather conditions •Ability to be mobile campus/community wide for appropriate business needs •Ability to work in an office environment as well as an athletic event environment
