The Western Stock Show Association is in search of qualified candidates to join our team as the Director/Senor Director of Ticket Operations.
Overview:
This position will oversee the complete operations of the Ticket and Box Offices at the National Western Complex and is responsible for creating & implementing strategies that will ensure successful ticket sales and services for the National Western Stock Show, Rodeo All-Star, and all other events hosted at the National Western Complex throughout the year. This individual will be responsible for management of the entire Ticketing staff, which may surpass 100 employees during the National Western Stock Show.
Reports to: Vice President of Ticketing & Complex Events
Roles & Responsibilities:
With the support of the Ticketing Management team, oversees all ticket/box office staff. Evaluates performance, recommends/oversees training, and makes compensation recommendations as needed.
Works with the Human Relations Department to recruit, interview, and hire all regular and seasonal staff. Schedules trainings as needed to get seasonal employees up to speed prior to Stock Show.
Works with managers to create staffing schedules for all events. Contacts Ticket Office Staff as needed to verify availability and confirm schedules.
Ensures managers have the training and support they need in order to effectively lead staff and handle issues as they arise.
Works with managers to foster a warm, welcoming, and team-oriented environment within the Ticketing Department and WSSA as a whole.
In conjunction with the Managers of Ticket Operations, monitors, codes, and adjusts time clock punches and lunch break allotments for employees. Reviews, adjusts, and approves timecards prior to payroll distribution.
Provides superior customer service when representing the company in any public situation, to all who enter our doors, and when taking telephone calls or communicating via email. Coaches staff to provide equally high levels of customer service in all situations.
Communicates professionally and effectively with management, peers, staff, volunteers, event promotors, clients, etc.
Maintains security of and balance of the cash vault at all times.
Produces reports, including daily sales, ticket counts, event sales, outstanding accounts receivable, promo code uses, and fundraisers. Reviews reports for accuracy and distributes to other departments as needed.
Ensures all event-related documents (contracts, insurance certificates, deposit records, settlement statements, communications, etc.) have been appropriately signed and are filed in a secure location.
Works with the Marketing Department to promote ticket sales through advertising, including social media specials, website additions, email blasts, and internal communications.
Prior to Stock Show, submits creative requests for production of season ticket booklets, thermal ticket stock, pocket schedules, post cards, rack cards, open offer flyers, etc.
Updates and maintains the event schedule on the National Western website. Ensures all links for ticketed events are active.
Assists with the creation of budgets and estimates income potential for any pricing changes that are being considered for the Stock Show or Rodeo All-Star.
Develops and maintains department budget on an annual basis.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant coursework preferred, but will consider equivalent experience in lieu of education.
10+ years’ experience managing Ticket Operations required; 5+ years of managing operations at a Director or higher level preferred.
10+ years’ experience effectively managing people and teams in a fast-paced environment required.
10+ years’ experience with accounting and cash handling/balancing functions required.
Previous experience with a multitude of ticketing software systems required; must be capable of evaluating systems and suggesting changes/updates as necessary.

Schedule Requirements
Must have a flexible schedule, including day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours up to 12-hour shifts. Hours of work may vary depending on shows, duties, and responsibilities of position.
Physical Demands
National Western Complex is a multi-purpose indoor and outdoor commercial and agricultural complex where dusty conditions and animals may exist. While performing the duties of this job, work is performed both indoors and outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, rain, and on varied surfaces.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 25 pounds.
Pay & Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried/exempt position.
Starting compensation will range from $60,000.00-$79,000.00 per year, dependent on experience.
