The Graphic Design and New Media Coordinator will be a member of the William & Mary Athletics Media Relations team with responsibilities that include: Develop a strategy for social media for all athletic teams at William & Mary by utilizing multiple social media platforms. - Collaborate with coaches and sports information to develop content to support social media and web distribution needs. - Chart and record statistics that forecast trends in social media practices, providing models for successful approaches to strategy and growth. - Create branded content to showcase the student-athlete experience at William & Mary. - Manage social media marketing features that lead to increased ticket sales and awareness of sporting events. - Collaborate with university marketing and communications team to ensure a unified message and promote special projects. - Work with athletics staff to develop ideas and efficient designs templates in line with brand standards. - Coordinate and facilitate recruiting presentations and videos that highlight campus facilities and achievements of athletics teams.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or a related major from an accredited college or university or the experience and skills equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
Skills/Competencies:
Experience in social media management in collegiate or professional athletics setting;
Deep knowledge and proven results of crafting and implementing innovative social media growth strategies;
Demonstrated working experience with the Adobe Creative Suite;
Strong planning and organizational skills;
Excellent verbal, written, computer, and personal relations skills;
Ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced, high volume environment;
Ability to work an irregular schedule including, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
Ability and willingness to travel for various athletic games and events as needed; and
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
