Associate Athletics Director Lubbock 29827BR Promo and Fan Engagement
Position Description Assists in providing leadership and direction for an assigned area within the athletics department. Responsible for the development, coordination, and administration of the department. Responsible for employees in the assigned area.
Major/Essential Functions 1. Program Direction and Development
Establish and activate short- and long-term marketing goals and objectives and consistently evaluate effectiveness to implement change when necessary.
Develop, direct and implement the marketing and promotion strategy and implementation for the athletic department.
Help continue to build the Texas Tech brand.
Responsible for department’s marketing and fan engagement staff, including hiring, training, education, supervision and evaluation of managers, interns and student workers.
Monitor expenses for all marketing efforts.
Establish and activate short- and long-term marketing goals and objectives and consistently evaluate effectiveness to implement change when necessary.
Oversee weekly marketing and fan engagement staff meetings.
Direct marketing and gameday plans and implementation for all events for the athletic department, in the areas of digital and video production.
Direct supervision and training student workers game day initiatives and operations.
Oversight of vendor and independent contractors (printing, video, graphic design).
Create and direct strategy for memorable moments that positively impact the fan experience, differentiating the live game experience from the television broadcast.
Provide leadership and direction, ensure efficiency and productivity, resolve concerns/conflicts, etc.
2. Liaison to the Student Life Office (ASG. APB)
Liaison with Learfield Sports and Red Raider Sports Properties.
Provide advice, consultation, and the support in development of policy, planning and response to all marketing and promotional aspects of the Department of Athletics.
Serve as the Athletic Department's liaison to appropriate Big 12, NCAA and professional organization's committees and events.
Manage the relationships between all third-party relationships related to marketing services.
Lead the development and implementation of annual marketing and promotional plans for all sports.
Oversee in-game atmosphere creation and coordination: team promotional videos, fan/student section giveaways,
Coordinate game-day presentation and script with PA announcer, Band Director, Spirit, Marketing Team, Corporate Sponsorship Representatives.
Coordinate with videography and creative content team for in-game graphics and videos
Coordinate fulfillment of corporate partner obligations for in-game production
Coordinate annual planning meeting with marketing team
Create and analyze fan experience feedback data and make recommendations
Coordinate special recognition events (jersey retirements, cause events, team community outreach, Senior day etc).
Create new opportunities to generate revenue
4. Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Five (5) years progressively responsible leadership experience in intercollegiate athletics administration. Must have thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in a related field, NCAA Division I experience in marketing, promotions, ticket sales, and/or promotions.
