The Assistant AD for Marketing and Fan Experience serves to increase the awareness of the athletics department on-campus and within the greater Upstate region through various marketing initiatives, branding efforts, game day promotions, and corporate sponsorship agreements.
•Design and execute promotional plans for home athletic events with an emphasis on engagement in-venue through innovative fan experience and on social media to reach the Upstate student body and surrounding community. Priority given to men’s and women’s basketball.
•Create graphics and edit photos for use on in-venue videoboard presentations, social media and in other marketing materials including traditional media outlets and on-campus flyers.
•Design and execute all game day marketing plans for all home athletic events; Design, coordinate and manage in-game entertainment for all home athletic events including music, script writing and on-court/field promotions. Assist in the creation and implementation of ticket sales program and student ticket marketing for men’s and women’s basketball.
•Design and implement effective social media campaigns, local traditional media marketing and grassroots efforts including schedule cards, posters and signage. Management of the department’s student-athlete social media photosharing account.
•Assist with the Spartan Golf Classic, Sparty’s Ball and Auction and be a resource for efforts supporting the U-Club.
•Recruit and supervise volunteers, student workers/intern in their role with executing the overall promotions plan.
•Coordinate all signage promoting home contests.
•Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in sports marketing, advertising, sports management or other related fields and 1 year of experience in collegiate sports marketing or related field. Good driving record, valid driver’s license, and a successful background check is required. Able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends. Able to travel to out of town meetings and conferences.
Preferred Qualifications: A master’s degree and two years of experience in collegiate sports Marketing.
