The Associate Director of Athletic Ticketing plays an integral role in the development of JMU Athletics by managing ticketing and parking services for Athletics and University events. While also serving as the chief marketing and communications staff member for the Athletic Ticket Office.
Primary Purpose
The Associate Director maximizes ticket revenues and the patron experience while furthering Athletics fundraising and support. This position ensures compliance with State, University, NCAA, & Sun Belt Conference policies and guidelines, the Associate Director manages and maintains secure, auditable financial transactions and reconciliations. The person is this role should be focused on modeling excellent customer service, creative communications, and executing strategic marketing campaigns.
This position will serve as the main lead for Men's basketball ticket operations which includes but is not limited to the following: • Season buildout within Paciolan • Sales implementation via eVenue, third party, phone, and window • Working with marketing on promotional needs • Working with JMU Sports Properties regarding sponsorship needs • Accommodate MBB staff needs including tickets for home and away contests • Work with the compliance office to handle all player pass list procedures for home and away contests as well as recruiting needs • In charge of group sales and premium spaces for MBB • Away travel when necessary for marquee matchups, in-season tournaments, SBC Championship, NCAA Tournament, etc. • Serve as the chief marketing and communications staff member for the Athletic Ticket Office. Managing all communication plans, campaigns, and constructing materials that will be utilized for ticket solicitations. Staff member in charge of integrated marketing tool. Developing online content and communication including website maintenance and updating. Utilizing third party applications to enhance reach of ticketing opportunities including but not limited to integrated Athletics App, Texting Platforms, Secondary Ticket Platforms, Social Media Accounts, etc. • Operate as office technical support in regards to ticketing scanners, Ticket Office printers, access points, computer software implementation, and login data management. Manage Paciolan Ticketing. Software: Implement software and internet applications. • Fulfill the following daily Ticket Office operations including but not limited to; ticket sales (walkup, phone, & internet), fund depositing, and customer relations and service. Facilitate all elements associated with tickets for Football, Men's & Women's Basketball, including preseason renewals, promotion of new sales, seat allocations, Duke Club donation compliance, ticket printing, packaging, and delivery. Provide student ticketing services for home, away, and postseason contests and promote student attendance and facilitate associated ticketing. Oversee logistics including printing, packaging, assigning, and communication with constituents and the University. Travel to away events which require ticketing services, especially away Football games and postseason events. • Serve as the liaison for University events for which the ticket office provides ticketing services. • Ensuring compliance with all relevant institutional, Sun Belt Conference, NCAA rules and regulations. • Manage Ticket Office Staff including, Intern and practicum positions, Student- Workers, and additional Game Day Staff. • Assist with Ticketing Services for JMU Athletic Events while providing the highest level of customer service and maximizing potential revenue. Pursue the mission of both JMU Athletics and the University – as the Ticket Office is a direct window to the University and facilitates on campus experiences for students, alumni, friends, faculty, staff and community.
Required Qualifications:
• Ticketing, Sales, or Marketing Experience • Strong Communication Skills • Customer Service Experience • Demonstrated creativity within a structured environment and the ability to work non-traditional hours
Preferred Qualifications:
• Paciolan Experience • Sport Experience with Collegiate Athletics Experience • Marketing and campaign experience with Eloqua platform • Bachelor's Degree
