Reporting directly to the Head Coach of Women’s Gymnastics, this position will coach on 1-2 gymnastics events; oversee daily team operations of the women’s gymnastics program; manage all program logistics, including recruiting travel, team travel, team meals; provide administrative support to the other coaches; supervise team of student managers; organize all program scheduling; assist with alumni relations, community service, mentoring program, equipment ordering, and budget management.
Operations: Plan and organize all aspects of team travel for competitions – hotel accommodations, meal planning, transportation, etc. Team calendar management in Teamworks platform Weekly reporting to compliance for CARA log Assist with planning and organization of team community service Assist with gymnast/mentor pairing and ongoing mentoring program management Assist with fundraising efforts with the Penn Champions Club Assist with home competition planning (operations, marketing, ticketing, judges’ c contracts) Assist with budget management
Coaching: Coach and teach gymnastics skills and progressions to student athletes at practice and competition. Instill proper technique in all conditioning sessions and practices. Work with head coach to prepare workouts and conditioning throughout the fall and spring semesters
Recruiting: Evaluate and develop relationships with prospective student-athletes Plan and organize all aspects of unofficial and official visits
Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor’s Degree with 2-3 years of related experience in coaching, operations, and/or administration. Previous coaching experience preferred; gymnastics experience as an NCAA athlete will be considered. Experience coaching Vault and Floor Exercise preferred. Choreography and/or dance background preferred.
Excellent organizational skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong computer skills and awareness of technology; knowledge of social media preferred. Ability to work evenings and weekends required. Ability to travel required. Valid driver’s license required.
