The Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing & Fan Engagement is responsible for promoting and enhancing the image of the Texas State Department of Athletics throughout the local, regional, state and national level. The position will increase visibility of the program through all available means in today’s widely diverse media outlets. The position will direct, develop, initiate, and support strategies that drive revenue, increase attendance, supports recruitment, and enhance in-game and fan experiences. The Assistant Athletic Director will report to the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. Position duties include: -Overseeing the marketing and promotions efforts for the Department of Athletics to drive ticket sales, fan engagement, and increase brand value. -Oversee and direct game presentation efforts including development and execution of game presentation, video board operations, and in-game promotions. -Coordinate the department’s main digital channels including social media, email, and SMS. -Manage the marketing staff, fan engagement team, student support organization and the department’s kids club. -Work collaboratively with other external offices to achieve department goals and outcomes including Communications, Tickets, Broadcast, Creative Content offices and the department’s sponsorship office operated by Learfield.
Previous experience in intercollegiate athletics or sports organization equivalent.
Knowledge of applied fan engagement and promotional strategies.
Experience with game presentation, entertainment and coordination (i.e. football).
Experience managing digital/social media channels to advance brand affinity.
Skill in establishing rapport with internal and external constituents.
Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated effective communication skills.
Ability to supervise staff.
Knowledge of general university policies and procedures.
