The full-time graduate assistant for athletic operations will work closely with Athletic department staff and Athletic Administration in the daily operations within an NCAA Division II Athletics department, which includes 17 varsity sports. Duties will include but are not limited to: game management, operations, marketing & promotion, special event planning, budgets, NCAA Compliance and Academics, and supervision of student workers. This GA will receive experience and training within an NCAA Division II Athletic Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning and execution of ticket sales strategies for athletic events. Assist with the management of ticketing operations on game days, including setup, sales, and customer service. Coordinate game day promotions and fan engagement activities. Assist all aspects of NCAA Division II Compliance. Serve as a liaison between athletics and student organizations. Other duties as assigned within the Athletic Department.
Required Qualifications:
Admission to a graduate program at Slippery Rock University; non-degree seeking students and those only seeking post-baccalaureate certification are not eligible. Full-time Graduate Assistants must be enrolled in and maintain a minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall semester and in Spring semester. Strong interest in sports management, marketing, or related field. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet established work deadlines. Ability to work 20 hours per week, have flexible hours, which will include evenings and weekends for the entire year.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in an intercollegiate athletics setting is preferred.
