Salary Details:
Tuition and fees for up to 18 in-state graduate credits per academic year (does not include additional hybrid/online course fees, books, and/or housing). GA Verification support for out-of-state graduate students covering the difference of in-state vs. out-of-state tuition and fees. Possibility of student worker wages for gameday hours worked as a student worker beyond 20 hours per week required in GA role during fall and spring terms
The primary responsibility of all persons assigned to these positions is to support the mission of Auburn University at Montgomery, the Athletic Department, and the Athletics Administration. This position requires office hours, nights and weekends dependent on home competition and special event schedules.
General Responsibilities: The Athletics Administration GA position is designed to provide individuals with a comprehensive athletics administration event operations experience within a NCAA Division II athletics department throughout their tenure, including game day management, event planning and execution, marketing and more. Below are a list of essential functions and tasks performed by Athletics Administration Graduate Assistants:
• Represent the University, Athletic Department, and assigned department/sports program with integrity at all times
• Follow the personnel standards included in our departmental Policies & Procedures and expectations outlined in the Graduate Assistant offer letter
• Provide support on game day to execute duties to be compliant with expectations for a well-managed event that also adheres to NCAA rules, including ticket sales, concessions management, live streaming, video replay, scoreboard, ball people and student worker oversight, sideline set-up, and other necessary game day roles
• Assist with oversight and management of AUM Athletics Game Day Concessions operations (as assigned)
• Serve as a game day lead for team sport home events and game day administrator for home tennis matches and non-championship segment contests
• Assist with any game day operations tasks including set-up and breakdown of the facilities for competitions and other events
• Assist in keeping facilities clean and properly maintained
• Assist in hiring, training and scheduling of student workers for all athletic department hosted events (as assigned)
• Support the daily operations and reporting of NCAA and conference rules compliance
• Assist in the training and education of student-athletes, coaches and staff (as assigned)
• Submit all required compliance and university-required documentation following set deadlines
• Participate in all community outreach projects and team/department functions
• Annually complete the NCAA DII Coaches Certification
• Maintain valid CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
• Have a valid driver’s license, pass an MVR, and complete university required driving-related trainings
• Attend monthly department and compliance ed meetings and weekly administration-related meetings
• Participate in department and university hosted or supported professional development opportunities
• Other duties as assigned, including additional opportunities based on individual preference (i.e., grounds support, student-athlete development, business operations, compliance tasks, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree posted prior to start date
Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
Valid driver’s license
Continuation in the role for a second year is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining valid CPR/AED, First Aid and NCAA DII Coaches certifications as well as meeting position expectations
Must apply and gain admission to an Auburn University at Montgomery on-campus graduate-level program and pass background check and MVR to be eligible for position
