Western Kentucky University, Department of Athletics, is seeking applications for Athletic Creative Video Graduate Assistant beginning July 1, 2026.This is a 12-month, part-time position that reports to the Director of Creative Video. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA, and the NCAA.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Serve as the primary creative video contact for assigned sports.
Create in-game hype, social media, and other non-broadcast videos.
Shoot video at practices, home games, select road games, and community/special events to generate content.
Contributes to the development and implementation of innovative social media and in-game video strategies by collaborating across departmental units (e.g., communications, fan experience, ticketing).
Assist in the planning and execution of media day shoots for all sports.
Assist the Director of Creative Video with daily operational tasks surrounding the planning, creation, and implementation of creative video content and the management of creative video interns.
Assist with non-sport-specific video campaigns for the athletic department and cross-campus partners as needed.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Creative Video.
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Skill in video lighting and composition, camera operation, audio recording, and video production.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
Ability to work in a deadline-focused environment.
Keen attention to detail and creative direction.
Self-motivated.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends.
Ability to lift and move athletic equipment up to 50 pounds.
Compensation:
$1,100 stipend, paid monthly. Scholarship will cover full tuition expenses for two classes per semester. Does not cover course-related fees or textbooks. The candidate must have earned a baccalaureate degree and be admitted as a full-time student in any graduate program at Western Kentucky University, effective fall 2026. This position is a two-year commitment, renewed after one year based on satisfactory academic and work-related performance.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field
Experience working in college or professional sports
Acceptance into a graduate program at Western Kentucky University and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in the graduate program
